Singapore in March 2024 – Things To Do, Festivals, Events & Weather
March is a shoulder season in Singapore. Particularly in 2024, March is the month between two big festivities: Chinese New Year in February 2024 and Hari Raya Puasa in April 2024.
Even though Chinese New Year has passed, CNY decorations, light up and events are still ongoing in the early part of the month.
Meanwhile, even though Hari Raya Puasa is still a month away, the festivities start kicking in this month, with Ramadan Bazaars taking place all over Singapore.
So, in a way, March is a great month to experience the best of both Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Puasa!
There is one public holiday this month, and that is the Good Friday on 29 March 2024.
The school holiday in Singapore is taking place from 9 to 17 March 2024. That means, attractions may be more crowded than usual because families are going out to spend quality times with their children.
If you prefer to travel during off-peak period, you can consider avoiding traveling between 9 to 17 March 2024.
Singapore’s Weather in March
Early March in Singapore is pretty dry and windy. There will still be hot and rainy days, but most of the time, it’s windy and comfortable.
However, in the late March, Singapore will enter Inter-Monsoon Period. During this time, there will be frequent (and at times severe) thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening. Despite the thunderstorms, the afternoon temperature will be pretty hot, with maximum temperature above 32°C.
Based on historical data between 1991 to 2020, it rains 12 days out of 31 days. So, it will rain 38% of the month.
I recommend that you bookmark Singapore’s weather website, which is a very useful website to see current rain area & intensity, and to check the rain forecast for the next 4 days.
March’s temperature hovers between 24.9 to 32.2 degrees Celsius (76.8 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Generally, the temperature in Singapore doesn’t differ much from month to month.
In March, the sun rises between 7.14am (1 Mar) to 7.05am (31 Mar) and sunset occurs between 7.19pm (1 Mar) to 7.12pm (31 Mar).

Located at Geylang Serai, this year’s bazaar features over 500 stalls selling various things, from food, clothes, to Hari Raya goodies.
To me, one of the main highlights would be the food! The food is great, but it’s usually more expensive than regular hawker food. This year, it was announced that all stalls will be required to sell at least 2 products at $3 to keep things affordable.
The bazaar is open from 10am to 11.59pm daily. But on the eve of Hari Raya, 9 April 2024, the bazaar will stay open until 6am the next day on 10 April 2024.
